4 and a Half Months of Ballin'

Blog:

When I came up with the idea for this site, I wanted to simply report on basketball related news from all kinds of leagues around the world. I got the idea from my local NBA team the Toronto Raptors. They had a very diverse team with players from all over the globe when Brian Collangelo stepped in as the new GM. This made me think that there might be a group of people who love the NBA but also want to keep an eye on other leagues and players from around the world.

Just check out the amount of talented international players that were in the NBA for the 2007 - 2008 season. This means that the NBA is now adopting new types of players with different styles of play. I thought it would be cool to see who the next phenom might be coming from over seas so I started gathering articles from as many leagues as I could.

Basketball is currently the second most popular sport in the world and I thought that having a site act as a central hub would be beneficial to fans from North America to keep an eye on European, Asian, Australian and all the other leagues in between. It also works the other way around as well. Fans of Euroleague teams or the NBL can catch up on news relating to their local team and see what's going on in the NBA or WNBA as well. I currently have 8 leagues with 4 of them originating in North America. The other four were chosen after doing research to see how often content was updated and how much of it was available on a daily basis.

Seeing as how I am just one guy updating all the content for this site, there isn't very much original content as I am unable to pay close attention to all the games and various leagues across the world. This site is in it's early development stages and I one day hope to have a team of writers and contributors to help out with this massive project. Until that day, I'll mostly be writing about what I know and that just happens to be the NBA.

I plan on using this blog to write mostly about the Raptors seeing as how they play in my backyard. I don't have NBA league pass so it's hard to catch all the games as my local cable provider caters to mostly to Raptor fans. I wish I could be really can't subscribe to NBA league pass. it's an extra $30 a month on top of my current massive cable bill and can't justify it at this time. I am however excepting donation and any one who feels like reporting on their local or favorite team to help out with the site is more than welcome to drop me a line. Send me an email at info@worldwideball.com or click on an add or two so I can catch more games and in turn, add more content. Thanks for visiting and check back for all the latest basketball news from around the world.
